Job Title: Loan Processor

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide back office loan support to the loan department and other internal departments in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner. All duties will be performed in accordance with established credit union policies and procedures.  Provides prompt, professional and courteous support and assistance to internal departments, branches, and members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities includes the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for verifying that all documents are correctly completed for new loans
  • Responsible for working with insurance companies regarding total losses on vehicles
  • Must have a good understanding of all credit union products and services
  • Obtains collateral insurance verification for loans made at the Brookville Road office
  • Provides back-up support for Loan Officers for online loan channels and in-branch as necessary
  • Processes all GAP claims for Brookville Road office
  • Responsible for follow-up to assure lien perfection for all collateral loans made through the Brookville Road office
  • Document scanning
  • Record/release mortgages for new/paid mortgage loans
  • Process paid loan files
  • Answers general loan questions and performs loan account research as needed
  • Cultivates and maintains appropriate relationships with members and co-workers

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of financial products and services
  • Strong understanding of the necessity of purpose of each loan document for all loan types and the ability to answer member questions regarding each document
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Technological skills and knowledge, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office

Performance Standards:

The Loan Processor must be versatile, well-organized, and detail-oriented individual who can carry out the the duties quickly and accurately. The person in this position can work independently and takes initiative as appropriate. A team spirit and the ability to work in a dynamic environment is essential.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma (or GED); and six months to two years' related experience in a customer/member service, financial institution, or sales environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
